About The Client:
Pencil on Paper Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in the Dallas Design District that promotes emerging, mid-career, and veteran artists. With an emphasis on community-based engagement through the empowerment of artists, the gallery provides a platform that represents a diverse array of culture and artistry while fostering an appreciation for the arts. The gallery is a proud member of CADD (Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas) and has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, The Dallas Morning News, Patron Magazine, D Magazine, PaperCity, Dallas Weekly, and Douglas Elliman Magazine. In addition, represented artist Desmond Blair was featured on Gail King's CBS Mornings for his exhibitions at Pencil on Paper Gallery. Gallery features have aired on ABC, CBS & NBC local news platforms.
The Work:
Gallery owner Valerie Gillespie struggled to balance content creation with her busy role as a professor and gallery owner. I’ve been entrusted to create content that reflects the nature of the business. As creative director and content manager for Pencil On Paper, I lead creative projects and ensure a cohesive look and feel for a project. I help Valerie monthly to create and deliver a strategic vision.
To give a glimpse of the fun projects we’ve worked on for the Pencil on Paper Gallery, the video above is a Gallery Tour that I directed and worked with editors in post-production to execute.
In previous events, many people described Valerie’s energy as “homey”, explaining that she naturally makes people comfortable with her and makes them feel at home. This content pays homage to that as it’s inspired by the infamous Architectural Digest’s celebrity home tours.
